Dr. Peter Grossman, 29, formerly employed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, was charged in the aftermath of a September 2016 search of his house in the city, in which six electronic devices wiht digital storage capacities were seized, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Roberrt D. Bernardi's office.

Grossman was released to await court proceedings after being charged with:

  • One second-degree count of impersonation and theft of identity
  • Six third-degree counts of impersonation and theft of identity
  • 21 third-degree counts of elements of computer theft
  • Seven fourth-degree counts of invasion of privacy.

Investigators claim that Grossman, a 2005 Delran High graduate, broke through password protections and copied more than 2,000 images.

Grossman's dwelling was searched in the same month that a victim reported suspicions to Delran police that her e-mail and mobile phone accounts were compromised. Investigators said the same suspicions were reported by several other women.

Detectives surmised that Grossman slipped into cell phone, e-mail, iCloud, Snapfish and Facebook accounts, noting that the accounts contained passwords easily determined by informaiton in the publicly-accessible portions of each platform.

Security experts recommend passwords devoid of personal information, with a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols.

Anyone with reason to believe victimization by Grossman should call Delran Police, 856-461-4498, extension 149.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
