BREAKING: Motorcyclist seriously injured in Toms River crash

A crash in Toms River involving a car and a motorcycle this afternoon results in life-threatening injuries for the biker, according to township police at the scene on Fischer Boulevard and Glasgow Avenue.

Investigators did not identify anyone involved, but said that the crash involved a 2014 Hyundai Sonata at about 2:20 PM, and that the motorcyclist is hospitalized.

They expect the investigation to last several hours. Traffic safety officers are directing drivers away from the spot.

Northbound and southbound drivers can use Hooper Avenue-Brick Boulevard as a nearby alternate.
