A Bradley Beach man is facing charges after being identified as the culprit behind a bank robbery at the Bank of America on State Highway 35 in Ocean Township on July 31, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office

31-year old Spiros Bardis allegedly entered the bank wearing a motorcycle helmet and passed a note to the teller demanding money around 10:18 am.

He then walked off with about $700-dollars and booked it on his bike.

Bardis remains jailed following his arrest on a second degree Robbery charge.

A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean Township police department began after officers were dispatched to the Bank of America on a report of a robbery on July 31.

If convicted of the second degree crime of Robbery, Bardis faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in a New Jersey state prison with 85% parole ineligibility.

He is scheduled for a detention hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday August 8, 2018 in front of Monmouth County Superior Court Judge James J. McGann.

The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cummings.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
