On a day where security was tightened across the state on the 18-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America, Toms River Police and Ocean County Sheriff K9's swarmed the ShopRite on Route 37 after a bomb threat was phoned into the store.

Police were dispatched to the ShopRite around 7:07 pm on Wednesday evening after the reported bomb threat was phoned into the business.

The building and parking lot was evacuated and Toms River Police, as well as, Ocean County Sheriff (Bomb) K9 officers checked the area and store for explosives.

That search by officers on scene yielded negative results.

Police say that at this time there is no active threat to the public.

The investigation as to the origin of the call is ongoing.
