You might not be able to fool “Father Time” but every once in a while you can put one over on “Mother Nature” and that’s what we did this weekend.

Saturday and Sunday were truly spectacular as it felt more like September than November and the beaches and boardwalks reflected that.  It was the kind of weekend that we all needed although I find it a bit depressing knowing it’s likely the nicest weather we’ll have until next April or May. With that said some other notes and thoughts with no mention of politics

  • I have never been a Notre Dame fan but they played quite a football game Saturday night in ending Clemson’s 36-game winning streak. The teams are likely to meet again in the ACC Championship game in December.  I don’t know if it could have been prevented but the storming of the field after the game by Fighting Irish fans was just another example of how young people still don’t take the coronavirus seriously.
  • The Trenton Thunder are in search of a major league affiliation after the Yankees announced last week they are ending their 18-year partnership with Trenton and will relocate their Double-A team to the home of the SomersePatriots.  The Yankees said the move was being made because the Bridgewater facility is the best to develop their young players but an irate Thunder owner Joseph Plumeri was quoted in several reports of saying the team was bolting an urban area for one that is more affluent.  What is now Arm & Hammer Park has been home to an Eastern League franchise since 1994.
  • If you have Apple TV then I highly recommend the sitcom “Ted Lasso” which we binged watched over a few days. It stars Jason Sudekis as an American college football coach hired to coach a soccer team in the English Premier League even though he knows nothing about the sport.  It is not only hilarious but uplifting and we simply loved it.  The ten episodes run around 30 minutes each and the series has been renewed for 2021.

Finally I want to thank those who have reached out to me and asked if I’m okay following another dismal performance by my loved Penn State football team who is off to an 0-3 start for the first time since 2001.  Look the team is lousy but in 2020 you do realize there are bigger issues so thank you I am fine….not really!
