As we head further into winter I’m sure families find themselves wondering what are some great activities for families to take advantage of here in Ocean and Monmouth Counties. As parents we all know how an entertained child is a happy child lol.

Winter of course has its limits due to weather and it can make it a bit more challenging for Mom & Dad or Grandma and Grandpa to find entertaining outings for the whole family. I decided to focus on the TOP 5 places, in my humble opinion, to go right here at the Jersey Shore.

Novins Planetarium

The Novins Planetarium is located on the main campus of Ocean County College in Toms River. The planetarium is a fun and educational trip. They have all kinds of different programs to enjoy. Its very relaxing and “warm” during the cold of winter. If you have never been, make a plan to visit this winter.

Hot Sand

This is one on my list, I have never done glass blowing, and this cool spot is right in Asbury Park. Great way to learn and create your very own art for your home or business. I definitely want to try glass blowing at Hot Sand. 

Iplay America

This is a no brainer, an amusement park like atmosphere that’s indoors in Freehold. Basically kids heaven lol and perfect on a cold and wet winters day.  Iplay America is a great winter option.

Winding River Ice Rink

Nothing is more winter than ice skating and this location in Toms River is perfect to enjoy some fun exercise for the whole family. If you don’t know how to skate, maybe now is the time to learn :) Winding River is another great winter option for the whole family.

Jenkinson’s Aquarium

The landmark in Point Pleasant Beach is always a fun time. We always enjoy a trip to Jenks Aquarium and once again a perfect day trip during the winter months. Jenkinson’s Aquarium is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year.
