Authorities in Ocean County say 19-year-old Shemar Jackson of Galloway Township has been arrested and charged with strict liability drug induced death in connection to a man who died last month in Toms River.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says on December 5th, Toms River Township Police responded to a home for a report of a 24-year-old man who was unresponsive. Upon arrival, cops discovered the man was already dead from an apparent drug overdose.

An investigation revealed that Jackson was the supplier of heroin and fentanyl that were sold to the victim the day before. Further investigation and laboratory analysis confirmed that the heroin and fentanyl found in the victim’s system -- the same Heroin and Fentanyl supplied by Jackson and sold to the victim -- were the cause of the man’s death.

Jackson was arrested at his home in Galloway Township Thursday by officers of the Galloway Township Police Department and Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
