TOMS RIVER – Toms River Police are probing the burglary of a home on Hemlock Hill Drive. Chief Mike Mastronardy says it happened Saturday night betewen 7 and 10 p.m. Over $5000 worth of jewelry and about $500 in cash was taken from the residence. Anyone with information should call 732-349-0150.

TOMS RIVER – Police in Toms River are investigating the theft of a 62 foot brass propeller blade from a front lawn of a home on Arcadia Road in the Pleasant Plains section. The $5000 item was taken early Saturday morning. Anyone with information should call police.

TRENTON – The number of people killed in fatal accidents on New Jersey’s roadways jumped from 2010 to 2011, according to figures released by the state police. Reports say 638 people died in 596 accidents. Middlesex County had the highest rate with Ocean coming in second. The Division Of Highway Traffic Safety plans to do more followup study.

JACKSON – Police in Jackson Township are investigating a rash of home burglaries. The department is asking all residents to be on the lookout and if they see anything to call their office. The incidents have taken place mostly during the day.

HOWELL –Some Freehold Regional High Schoolers will experience living history tomorrow. Don Olivaria describes his freedom march from Selma to Montgomery Alabama nearly a half-century ago for students at Howell High School in Farmingdale. Doctor Martin Luther King Junior led the march that Olivaria joined…which ultimately led to the Voting Rights Act Of 1965.

TRENTON – The company planning to build what might be the nation’s first offshore wind farm says all that’s left to fall into place is New Jersey approvals. Fisherman’s Energy Of Cape May wants to place the turbines a little under three miles off the Atlantic City shoreline.

HAMILTON – Forensic scientists in Atlantic County are trying to determine whether bones found in a South Jersey woods are human. County Prosecutor Ted Housel says a hunter found the skeletal remains in Hamilton Saturday.
