Brick Crash Hospitalizes Two

A 2-vehicle crash in Brick sent 2 people to the hospital last night.

Brick Police say a Jeep driven by James Coleman,43  of Orlando, Florida heading east on Route 70 made a left turn at Olden Street into path of a Honda Accord driven by Susan C. Palumbo, 48,  of Toms River who was traveling  in the same direction  just after 6 p.m.

Coleman hit the end of the intersection's jersey barrier and rolled over into the traffic signal bringing the stanchion down. Palumbo came to a stop in the center lane.

Coleman was taken via medical helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Nepune to the hospital with head injuries; Palumbo, whose husband Joseph was a passenger,  was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick for treatment of a hand injury and abrasions. 

No charges have yet been filed. Route 70 eastbound was closed at Olden Street for about three hours on Saturday night.
