Any dreams of your town being named the most beautiful town in New Jersey were shattered and dashed by a recent online report.

You may think you live in the prettiest town in the Garden State, but The Daily Meal would beg to differ with you. That honor belongs to a town that is so far away from us it's barely still in New Jersey.

So, no Spring Lake, you are not the prettiest town, and neither are you Avon by the Sea. forget about it Bay Head, Mantoloking, Freehold and Rumson, it's not you either. And, no it's not Asbury Park, Manasquan or Ocean Grove. You get the idea, right.

Nope, the prettiest town in the Garden State is 100 miles south of the Asbury Park exit on the Garden State Parkway, and it's the town that always gets the attention of the national sites. It's like the rest of the state doesn't exist.

Don't get me wrong Cape May. We love you and you are very beautiful, but how about sharing some of that spotlight once in a while? I guess it's not Cape May's fault. It is gorgeous, and it is known worldwide.

But I'd just like to some some of the great towns in this state which happen to be a little further north get recognized for their beauty. And not just the ones listed above.. How about Point Pleasant, Toms River and Belmar. The list goes on and on.

And I know the publicity would great for any of these local towns, and if our local towns ever needed a boost, it's now. So, Cape May, we love you but please share some of the headlines with us. We deserve them, too. Thanks!
