We love to buy things here in New Jersey. Did you ever wonder what the top-selling item is in the whole state? We have the answer for you.

First things first. Let's get all of the stupid New Jersey stereotypes out of the way before we get down to business.

No, the top-selling item in New Jersey is not hairspray. And while we're at it, we should let you know that it's not pork roll, pizza, or disco fries either.

And no, our top purchase is not our EZ Pass bill, either. So, what does Walmart say our top purchase is here in the Garden State?

If you didn't guess it then we have to throw out the word dumbell. Not because you are one, but because that is the answer to the question we've been asking.

The top item ordered by New Jersey Walmart customers according to the data at Yahoo is the basic dumbell. I guess it could be worse. In North Carolina, their top item was an electric knife.

Nothing tops Alabama, however. They skip the dumbells, hand sanitizers, and Gatorade that other states buy up. They go straight for the Duncan Hines classic yellow cake mix. That's my kind of purchase.

I'm also guessing that the pandemic had something to do with dumbells being the Garden State's top purchase. Now the question is how much did we use them. Or maybe we put them on the treadmill next to the laundry.
