This has been a particularly bad allergy season for many Jersey Shore residents, and relief seems to be much later this year than usual.

So with tree and grass pollen making many of us feel bad, we are begin to wonder when it will end. After all, by this part of June, at least the tree pollen part of the problem is easing. But one look on any car hood tells you it's not. So, what's going on?

Well, according to nj101.5, a Rutgers University professor of medicine says it's due to all the rain and moisture we've been dealing with over the past few weeks. So, the weather that's been making us miserable has been making our allergies feel miserable as well.

And, yes, if you think the tree pollen is sticking around longer than usual, you're right. Experts say it's usually gone by now, but not this year.

So, when will it end? The good news is the tree pollen should last only another week or so, but grass pollen will be around for about another month. So, keep the tissues and allergy medicine handy, at least for a little while longer.
