Welcome to October at the Jersey Shore! So what does an average October look like at the Jersey Shore?

Let's take a look at some of the averages fro locations around Monmouth & Ocean Counties and it may give us an idea of what our weather might look like in the next few weeks.

Let's start with temperatures around the area. Here are October's high temperature and low temperature splits for some Shore towns, according to Current Results. We'll go north to south...

Sandy Hook...65/50

Long Branch...66/46

Toms River...67/43

I'm loving the temperatures in the 60's during the day, but I'm not sure I'm ready for an overnight low in the low 40's. Ouch.

Now let's move to precipitation. We all know we've had snow in October in years past, but according to weatherspark.com, the average October brings no snow to Toms River. Long Branch or Sandy Hook, but each town sees about 3 1/2 inches of rain in the month.

But let me say what everybody's thinking, and frankly what I'm thinking, too. Nothing seems to be "normal" around the Jersey Shore anymore. So, all we can do is wait and see.

Frankly, I'd love nothing more than some "normal" weather around here. I think we've had enough extreme weather for a while, don't you?
