It's hard to believe it after the rough winter we had, but it's here: the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day!  It means pool parties, barbecuing, outdoor games, the beach and for most of us an extra day off, but it's more than that: it's a day to honor our Veterans.  Did you know in The Civil War 500,000 lives were lost?  In World War One we lost 116,000 troops.  The Korean War saw 54,000 casualties and in the Vietnam War 58,000 lost their lives.  Many of these dead patriots were only 18 or 19 years old and for what?  Our Freedom!

Let's all just take a moment and maybe look above us and say "thank you" and if you see a man or a woman in uniform not just on Memorial Day but anytime, give them a smile and also a "thanks" - I'm sure it would mean so much to them.

Okay NOW go enjoy this holiday weekend and stay safe!

What does Memorial Day mean to you?
