Tiffany & Co.'s flagship store in New York City allows visitors to have "breakfast" at the store. Fans of the film Breakfast at Tiffany's are flocking to The Blue Box Cafe to feel like Audrey Hepburn in her Givenchy gown, eating a croissant, sipping on coffee. As a huge fan of the movie, having breakfast at The Blue Box Cafe was an absolute must.

I made my way to Tiffany's with my dad to recreate the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's sans that gorgeous Givenchy gown. Getting reservations for the cafe proved to be a difficult task. Reservations are open a month in advance at precisely 9:00 AM. So if you wanted to dine at Tiffany's on July 9th, you would have to be on the website at 9:00 AM on June 9th. My first attempt to get a reservation failed miserably, however on the following day I made sure I was logged into my account and my credit card to hold the reservation was saved. It was a success.

The cafe is located on the 4th floor of the store and occupies a small corner. There were about 12 tables and a small kitchen. The walls were painted the iconic Tiffany blue, with blue chairs, and stainless steel tables. The tables were set with white and blue plates and beautiful white flowers.

When we sat the waitress brought us some sparkling water and gave us some time to go over the menu. Their menu is prix-fixe with breakfast, lunch, and tea. They also offer a selection of refreshers, wine, beer, desserts, and teas. Obviously, I had to choose the breakfast option. Both breakfast and lunch have multiple choices. I chose the coddled egg over polenta with ground chicken sausage and asparagus. Breakfast also came with your choice of coffee or tea, seasonal fruit, and the all important croissant with Nutella, honey butter, and a fruit preserve.

I felt like a modern day Holly Golightly eating my croissant and sipping my coffee.

I also enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay, I felt like Holly Golightly would approve. My dad ordered the lunch with an arugula salad, their "Charles Lewis Tiffany" CLT sandwich, and a beer from a brewery that has been around since the 1300's. The food was delightful and the portions were perfect. We left full, but not stuffed. We even had to pass on dessert.

We were sat in a corner of the cafe where we could see out of two windows. It was a rainy day, but the city was a beautiful sight. Throughout our meal we had multiple servers that took plates away, brought the food, refilled our water, and checked in from time to time.

As you looked around the cafe everyone was dressed up and taking photos to capture the memories. We were all trying to emulate Audrey Hepburn in one way or another. If you are a fan of Breakfast at Tiffany's this is a must do that you have to add to your list. As someone who can quote most of the movie, this experience was one for the books.
