The Ocean County Library system has made the decision to close all of their branches beginning Sunday and maintaining the absence until March 29 out of an abundance of caution for staff and customers.

The library is waiving all late fees and will automatically extend the due dates of all books and materials that are checked out.

The book drops at all library branches will be closed.

Ocean County Library officials ask that you help them out by not leaving library books and materials outside their doors, but with you until they reopen.

The Ocean County Library’s digital resources and materials, online learning resources, and pre-recorded and live-streamed library programs are available to you for entertainment, education and information 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Vicari, longtime library liaison on the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, who cares deeply about our staff and the health and welfare of the residents of our county” Susan Quinn, Library Director, said. “and also for the leadership of Ruthanne Scaturro, Library Commission Chair, both of whom I have been in constant communication with about this developing situation."

On Friday, the Ocean County Library had cancelled all library programs, outreach and meetings with the use of library meetings and spaces by outside groups were also off limits.

On Saturday, a decision was reached to close all the branches.
