For the second time this week Seaside Heights, Seaside Park and Lavallette water rescue teams were called to a beach in SSH to make a rescue from swimmers getting caught in rip currents.

Seaside Heights Police responded to multiple 911 calls around 7:11 pm tonight for two swimmers in distress who were caught in a rip current at the Sumner Avenue Beach.

Officers observed one swimmer had been pulled out of the water by a Sand Tropez boardwalk employee.

Seaside Heights deployed a diver into the water to secure the second victim until a jet ski could be sent out there in order to bring the victim to the safety at the shore.
Damien Ruiz, 18, Jamesburg, New Jersey and Jason Chirieoga, 19, East Brunswick were evaluated by Tri-Bore first aid squad and declined any further medical treatment.
After being evaluated thought, both victims were issued Borough Summons 33-8, for swimming without a Lifeguard present.
