Two Pemberton Township men were arrested yesterday after Manchester Township Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary in Brendan Byrne State Forest.

The area is the same area where two other cabins and trailers had been burglarized last month. An investigation into those incidents by Ptl. Michael Guarino resulted in developed photographs of a possible suspect and vehicle.

When Ptl. Michael O' Hara and Ptl. Kyle Rickvalsky were on the scene investigating they observed a silver Chevrolet Colorado driving down a wooden trail. This truck matched the original photograph.

During the stop, Ptl O'Hara positively identified one of the occupants of the vehicle as the suspect in the photo. 67-year-old Raymond N. Harker was arrested without incident.

The other occupant of the vehicle, 66-year-old Samuel Lewis Jr., accompanied officers to headquarters so the investigation could continue.

While Detective Adam Guker and Ptl. Guarino were continuing the investigation, they were able to recover the stolen property from the locations in Burlington County and return to the rightful owners.

Harker was charged with burglary, theft, defiant trespass, possession of stolen property, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy to commit theft.

Lewis Jr. was charged with criminal trespass, theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and possession of stolen property.

Both were released on a summons.
