Toms River Police arrested a pair of Jersey Shore residents involved in a car jacking that occurred along Weston Drive and Ashford Road on Tuesday evening.

Officers responded to a robbery in progress and met with the victim who told them he was in the process of selling a 2003 Honda Civic to a couple and while they were on a test-drive, one of the prospective buyers grabbed the man around the neck while holding a knife and said "we're taking this" over and over again.

The victim was able to escape from the man's grasp, grab his cell phone and exit the vehicle.

He ran to the nearest house and received help from the resident as the suspects fled the area.

A full description of the vehicle and suspects was sent to neighboring agencies through police channels and less than two hours later the vehicle was located by Lakewood Police.

Saheru El, 23 whose last known address Asbury Park and Tonia Underwood, 18 of Lakewood were then placed under arrest without further incident.

El was in possession of several knives at the time of his arrest and was charged with First Degree Car- Jacking while Underwood was charged with First Degree Conspiracy to Commit Car-Jacking.

The incident is under investigation by Toms River Police Detective Steve Bucci and Detective Ryan Quinn.
