Toms River Hospital Blames Obamacare, Sequester For Layoffs
Budget cuts and changes to health care plans send 68 workers at Community Medical Center to the unemployment line.
The Asbury Park Press says the Toms River facility, which employs 2,600, eliminated 85 positions including management, administrative and clinical workers.
Hospital Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Bloom in a statement says the affected employees can receive a severance package or apply for other jobs.
The Barnabas Health System points to Washington's sequester as one of the reasons.
