Toms River Township officials have taken an additional precautionary measure to instill social distancing and keep everyone healthy and safe.

This comes a day after Governor Murphy’s new guidelines regarding recreational facilities, and so effective immediately, all parks and playgrounds in Toms River will be closed.

Signs will be posted at major points of entry all parks and playgrounds for the public’s knowledge.

The Bey Lea Golf Course will remain open. Locker rooms are closed, and attendance will be limited to 50 golfers.

The Winding River Indoor Skating Rink will be open. Locker rooms are closed, and hockey leagues are cancelled. Attendance will be limited to 50 skaters.

Both locations will be closely monitored by township personnel and sanitized several times throughout the day.

Toms River government officials are continuing to keep in contact with local and state officials for guidance and will make necessary changes and adjustments as warranted.
