It was a great summer , and there's no such thing as a great summer here in the Garden State  without a few awesome hot dogs. And we have some of the best, and that's just been proven again. One New Jersey hot dog joint was named among the best in the entire country, and it's not that far of a ride to experience one for yourself.

The website Hot Dog listed the best hot dog joints in each part of the country that made them famous, and when it came to our neck of the woods, the northeast, a Garden State hot dog place stood above the rest.

The list named Rutt's Hut in Clifton among the top three hot dog joints on the east coast. The other two were from New York. Just think, some of the best dogs in the nation are just about 50 miles away. We're only about an hour from hot dog royalty.

Ready to make the trip. You should be. Rutt's is listed in the book '1000 Places To See In The US And Canada Before You Die', and it's been on the Food Network, USA Today and much more. And it's been around for almost 100 years.

That's right, the original stand was opened in 1928. Those deep fried hot dogs are not to be missed. So plan a day trip this Local Summer to see what all the talk is about. You're going to be glad you did.
