Throughout all his years of acting on various shows and movies, Reiser has picked up lot about what it takes to be in the field and about himself as well.

"I'm always learning, I'm always learning, and, I remember one moment on 'Mad About You' -- we had these legends as guest stars like Jerry Lewis and Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner and Carol Burnett -- and I remember one day we were doing a scene with Carol Burnett and she certainly didn't need to work and she certainly didn't need to work hard -- when you do a TV show, it's a five-day production, you start Monday and by Friday you're done -- we were doing this scene, the joke was we were inside an RV, it was very cramped and the joke was about how cramped it was and she was very not liking how much everything was cramped and she had to reach up to grab a thing," Reiser said. "She was working with the prop department 'can you put this a little bit higher so I have to reach an extra two inches' and then she'd go to the wardrobe people and say 'can you make my shirt a little shorter so that when I reach up for the exit hinge, you see a little skin because that'll be funnier' and I went that is such attention to detail and so much more work and concern than you might expect. I thought wow, that's the lesson right there. There's a reason she's a legend."

There's a somewhat linear approach to his shows but also, some differences as well.

"I get to know the audience as soon as they walk in," Reiser tells Townsquare Media. "It's been very interesting lately. It used to be I had a certain demographic that came in and now, I noticed it's expanding, I can see people who watch 'Stranger Things' and I go 'oh, I can spot them', and, I see the guys with the tattoos must have been watching 'The Boys', and then the people in their 70's watched 'The Kominsky Method', so, I can kind of do my own survey upon entering."

Here is where you can get tickets to see Paul Reiser at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College in Toms River on Saturday, October 8.
