New Jersey residents might be even more excited about the last season of Game of Thrones than anyone else. We have a Garden State link to the wildly popular show.

So what link could New Jersey possibly have to the fictional Westeros? Would you believe that one of the key players in the battle for the Iron Throne, the hand to the Queen to be exact, was born in Morristown?

If you haven't heard by now, Peter Dinklage, the amazing actor who portrays Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones is actually a New Jersey guy! He grew up in Brookside and attended the Delbarton School in Morristown.

Dinklage has had amazing success in his role as Tyrion Lannister, earning a Golden Globe in 2012 and three Primetime Emmys in 2011, 2015 and 2018. Dinklage has appeared in many movies, including The Station Agent, as well as TV roles in Entourage and Nip/Tuck among others.

And his influence in the show has grown from season to season, and he very well might be the key to who claims the Iron Throne. Wouldn't that be a proud moment for the Garden State?

So, the next time your mind is escaping to Casterly Rock or King's Landing, you're never really that far from Morristown.
