Now that it is officially March it does feel closer to spring. March just sounds better than December, January, and/or February. March is the month we get St. Patrick’s Day and a lot of seasonal businesses begin to re-open here at the Jersey Shore.

For many St. Patrick’s Day weekend will mark a sort of unofficial start to the spring season. Even though we know that March, and even April, can have some winter weather left in it I think we all look to wearin’ the green and feeling springlike by the middle of the month.

Another sign of spring will be the beginning of daylight savings time, we will gain that extra daylight that will automatically make everyone feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Daylight savings time is next Sunday, March 13th. So that is great and it will be before St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th.

One of our Ocean County hot spots that folks always look forward to in spring and summer is the Tiki Bar at the Captain’s Inn in Forked River. The Tiki Bar will begin opening for weekends, until the weather is warmer, on St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday, March 17th.

The Tiki Bar at the Captain’s Inn will be open Thursday, March 17th, Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th with live music each of those days. As mentioned the Tiki Bar will be open weekends only for now beginning on St. Patrick’s Day.
