Struggling families won’t find themselves in the dark or cold during the pandemic after Gov. Phil Murphy extended the moratorium on gas, electric and water utility shut-offs until next year.
Legislation would require refunds if phone, cable or internet service is down for 72 hours or longer. An earlier version of the plan kicked in at 24 hours.
