New Jersey history

This article mixes history and patriotism and our amazing members of the United States Military Family. We are going to take a trip through history and take a look at the oldest most historic military bases in America.

Once again I want to bring to you a piece of our history. American history which is from right here in the Garden State. A way for us to get a better look into the deep roots of the American story that we have been part of right here in New Jersey.

It's no secret I am a "history buff". I enjoy history from around the world, around America, and right here around New Jersey.

Two of the most important minds in recent history both had ties to New Jersey. These two men changed the world and both did it with their intelligence.

If you have ever been in Southern Ocean County in the area of Little Egg Harbor you may have seen the remnants of what was known as the Stinkhouse on Crab Island.

If you love the creepy, strange, intriguing, haunted, or just odd places in America then this is a location you need to put on your must-visit list. For me, it is right up there with the Winchester Mystery House in California. I don't know if it's haunted, but it is the strangest home I have ever been in...

When the average person sees New Jersey, what do they think of?

I love history and I love food, so this is a perfect combination for me and possibly you as well. New Jersey has a deep history and I love to find and share different bits of New Jersey history for you.

So let's snap a picture in your mind, a picture of the Garden State circa 1956. I came across this fantastic vintage promotional movie for New Jersey and I wanted to share this trip down memory lane with you.

New Jersey and World War II are not something you always here in the same sentence, but it appears at least at one point they were. Nearly 100 years ago there was a naval incident that did happen during the war just miles off the coast right here in Ocean County and it was on this day in history.

It was 34 years ago…..June 8th 1987, that Long Branch suffered one of its worst days in the Monmouth County towns history. The story begins with a gas leak and electrical fire that led to millions of dollars in damage following a horrific fire.
