To make it simpler to get information about health insurance, and in some cases automatic enrollment, NJ will update its tax returns and unemployment forms.

More than 307,000 residents have signed up for health insurance through the state’s Get Covered New Jersey portal, helped by higher state subsidies.

Anyone who was unemployed for any period of time this year in Jersey can get medical insurance through the state-based exchange for less than $1 dollar a month

That cutoff is later than the deadline that residents have seen offered by the federal government in past years, now that the state's running its own shop for benefits.
