I am from Wall Township but I know what it's like to live far away from home. After getting my undergraduate degree from West Virginia University, I moved to a small town in western Kentucky to start my radio career. After that, I lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for three years. Long story short, there is nothing better than living at the Jersey Shore. Monmouth & Ocean County are awesome! The locals "get it", the restaurants are tremendous, and you can never run out of fun things to do.
The true financial impacts of the summer of 2020 at the Jersey Shore won't truly be known until sometime next year but this year saw record beach revenue in Monmouth County despite the restrictions and despite the pandemic.
The good news for this weekend is that what we usually see at this time every year will be seen once more but with one big difference....social distancing will be encouraged and enforced so be sure to keep six-feet of distance.
Summer in Ocean County won't be like it has been in years past due to the pandemic and it's already having an impact on people whose busy working season occurs between Memorial Day and Labor Day, including Lifeguards.
