When we asked Jersey Shore residents to grade the first half of summer, the word we heard most often was weather, and it certainly wasn't in a positive way.

As July winds down, we thought it would be a good time to see how Summer 2018 was treating you so far, and the results had about as much sunshine as the forecast lately. Here are some results.

We asked you how you described the first half of summer and 62% of you called it 'disappointing'. The main reason? You guessed it. The weather. Just too much rain and, when it wasn't raining, too much humidity.

On the positive side, 18% of those we polled said this has been 'the best summer ever' so far, not letting the unpredictable July weather get in the way of their fun.

Other responses, all getting less than 10% of the vote include 'good but not great", 'anything's better than winter', and 'worst summer ever'.

The good news is that we've got the whole month of August to make up for it if you've been disappointed so far, and if you are a fan of The Old Farmer's Almanac, the August outlook calls for hot and sunny conditions through the month with thunderstorms at times. That is not exactly going out on a limb for an August Jersey Shore forecast, is it?
