Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation holding two events in her memory
It's been one year since Stephanie Parze went missing and was later tragically killed as a result of a Domestic Violence attack by her ex-boyfriend John Ozbilgen.
In the months following her passing, her family and friends, who are known as 'Stephanie's Angels' who helped in searching for her last year and have since made sure that Stephanie's memory lives on forever and that they can help others who are victims of Domestic Violence attacks.
The Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation provides help and brings awareness to domestic violence and missing persons and create a variety of different avenues to make help available.
Their mission is to provide education, intervention and support for families dealing with Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and missing loved ones.
On February 19 of 2020, which was Stephanie's 25th birthday, her parents, family, friends and the community came together to celebrate her life and all the joy she brought to other people.
Her father, Edward Parze told 92.7 WOBM News that night Stephanie would have been embarrassed by the sea of people wearing purple, her favorite color, in her honor.
"But she knows how we are. Our family does everything big. We don't do anything small. She would be looking at me like 'dad you did it again. I don't know why but you did it again.' She'd probably be very embarrassed but very appreciative. She'd definitely be thankful for all the people who came out," Edward Parze said.
That night was also the beginning of the Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation.
This month, two events will be held in her memory and to continue the mission of the foundation.
A golf outing will be held October 19 at Gambler Ridge Golf Club in Cream Ridge and there will be a SNPF Color Butterfly Run/Walk on October 24 at 10:00 am at Lake Topanemus in Freehold.
"Through these two events, we hope to share important information on Domestic Violence as well as raise the much needed funds to continue with our mission," Ed Parze tells 92.7 WOBM News. "Please come out and join us and have some fund while we all fight the fight against DV while at the same time help us continue to help those in need. We hope to see everyone on the courses!"
