We've asked Lori to join us on the show this week to discuss what's going on this summer across Long Beach Island and the rest of Southern Ocean County.

There are 18-miles worth of white sand beaches along LBI, according to their website, and they are gorgeous and you can see their beauty in full force on nice sunny summer days.

Whether the beach, restaurants, businesses or single events, there is so much to enjoy in Southern Ocean County and LBI in the summertime, so be sure to check it out!

Lori Pepenella will offer some guidance to help you plan ahead.

Our second guest on Mother's Day will be a Middletown Township Mom, Andrea Verdone Gorsegner, who founded the non-profit, 'Infinite Love For Kids Fighting Cancer' after her daughter Natalie overcame her own battle with cancer at just 3-years old.

Ten years after being diagnosed with and eight years after becoming cancer-free from her battle with Leukemia, Natalie is now a happy 12-year-old in the sixth grade at school.

"She was diagnosed in 2012 and had a little over 2-years of treatment and that wrapped up in November of 2014. In that process, when we discovered how underfunded research is for childhood cancer, we just wanted to do something to try and make it feel as though we were helping beat her cancer as well and in our mind, that was raising money to fund research for pediatric cancer," Verdone-Gorsegner told Townsquare Media News in January of 2022.

Andrea set out to help fund pediatric cancer research and help those like her daughter Natalie find treatment, healing, recovery, and love all over.

Since 2013, Infinite Love For Kids Fighting Cancer has raised more than $1.6-million dollars for research.

They've held various events over the years as well including the annual 24-hour pedalthon that took place earlier this year for the 2nd time.

Due to a battle with Covid over the winter, Andrea didn't have enough time and energy to prepare physically for the pedalthon this year so Christine Doviak of Toms River and the Vice-President of the non-profit Jim McCaffrey rode in her stead.

Both of them have also had a child battle cancer. Christine's daughter, Carina, is currently in remission. Jim's daughter, Mia, tragically passed away in 2017 a just six years old.

In addition to discussing her non-profit and past events, we've asked Andrea Verdone-Gorsegner to come on and discuss their 'Tutu Trot 5-K' run coming up in June!
