Seaside Heights man fails to register as a convicted sex offender
A Seaside Heights man who allegedly failed to register as a sex offender sits in the Ocean County Jail following his arrest, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
Robert Hudson, 40, of Seaside Heights was arrested for Failure to Register As a Sex Offender in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:7-2d(1).
“Since 1994, Megan’s Law requires certain offenders to register with their local police departments whenever they move and/or change their residential address. Failure to comply with this obligation is a third degree crime” Prosecutor Billhimer said.
In this instance, Hudson moved from his last known address without registering or notifying any law enforcement agencies.
Hudson is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
“My office, in conjunction with local police departments will be vigilant in making sure individuals required to register under Megan’s Law are in compliance with their obligations,” Prosecutor Billhimer said.
Anyone with relevant information regarding this case or others violating Megan’s Law requirements should contact Detective John Argento of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 929 2027, extension 2903.
