Get a Really Retro Look at What Seaside Heights, NJ Looked Like in 1975

Seaside Heights has been through a lot over the years. It is arguably one of the most resilient Jersey Shore towns in the state. Despite Mother Nature or the economy, Seaside Heights always manages to bounce back and continue to put smiles on faces.

The year is 1975. Walking up and down the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, all the "cool kids" had their mood rings, Rubik's cubes, and pet rocks.

People were ditching their hip-huggers, bellbottoms, and leisure suits for their bathing suits.

Disco was all the rage. “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Jaws,” “Nashville.” “Dog Day Afternoon,” and “Barry Lydon” were big at the box office. George Carlin hosts the very first episode of “Saturday Night Live” on NBC.

The cost of a stamp was ten cents, and a loaf of bread set you back 33 cents.

The summer of 1975 was one of celebration in Seaside Heights and all over the United States as the Vietnam War officially comes to an end on April 30.

You'll see that many things have changed over the years, but some things are still the same. You can still try to win a prize spinning the big wheels, hop on a ride, and everybody was having a good time. Seaside Heights will always be timeless in many ways.
