Sea Bright Recieves Flood Prevention Grants From FEMA
Here’s some good news for Sea Bright homeowners. The Borough is being awarded nearly $1.4 million dollars for the replacement and repair of bulkheads. In an announcement by U.S. Senators Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will provide $1,373,964 through its Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
FEMA says the funding will be used to install a new bulkhead and repair five others in the borough where homes often flood because of overflow from the nearby Shrewsbury River. The funding is in response to damage to homes by a February 2010 storm.
