Brandywine Living at Princeton, an assisted living facility with over 100 residents, is holding a fundraiser and barbecue on Sept. 10 from noon to 3 p.m.

The proceeds raised from the event will go to assist EASEL Animal Rescue League, a volunteer nonprofit organization working to end the killing of unwanted animals in the county.

"Brandywine Living at Princeton is a pet-friendly, senior living community. We recognize pets are our family, too, and we would love to help EASEL find their homeless animals a fur-ever family," said Stephanie Gaber, the escapades producer at Brandywine Living at Princeton.

The event is free to the public with a monetary or dog/cat food donation for EASEL. The event will feature free food, music from The Heritage Band and over two dozen vendors from throughout New Jersey. Those in attendance will also be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle and merchandise basket drawing.

According to information on the National Center for Assisted Living's website, National Assisted Living Week "recognizes the role of assisted living in caring for America's seniors and individuals with disabilities."
