TINTON FALLS — The exit many drivers take to get to the beach or the Monmouth Park Racetrack will be closed for more than a month for construction. But summer traffic should not be impacted by the work, officials say.

Borough police said that the closure was expected to start Wednesday and run between 60 and 90 days.

"Heavy traffic is anticipated in the aforementioned area for the next few months," police said on Facebook.

The work will add a southbound connection from the Parkway outer roadway to Wayside Road and a second northbound deceleration lane from the Parkway outer roadway to Exit 105, and reconstruct the Hope Road/Route 36 intersection.

According to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the work is part of a larger project that began in 2015, and is expected to be finished sometime next year.
