Staffers of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conduct the meeting, beginning at 6 PM. Inspectors assigned to the generating station will present their observations regarding performance and oversight.

Under NRC's color-code system, the station maintained a "green" classification, or very low safety significance, in 2016. On April 14, 2017, the agency finalized a "white" classification, low to moderate safety significance, based on Exelon's handling of a faulty valve within the reactor's cooling system.

The finding was finalized after Exelon officials, at the company's request, submitted supplemental data and engaged in face-to-face discussions at NRC's offices in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

"Exelon will need to take steps to fix the underlying issues that contributed to this safety concern," said NRC Region I Administrator Dan Dorman in prepared comments. "When those steps have been taken, we will send a team of inspectors to the plant to validate that the changes put in place are thorough, comprehensive and improve the plant's safety posture."
