I love looking through Realtor and Zillow and seeing all the beach houses for sale that I could only dream of moving into.

Usually, they have grand entryways, modern updated living spaces, garages big enough to fit the pick-up and the boat, and of course, a pretty heft price tag attached.

When I saw a house for sale in Bayhead New Jersey with an asking price of over 11 million dollars, I thought it would be the creme de la creme of luxury at the shore.

As I began furiously scrolling through pictures of the property though, I realized that the house was pretty outdated.

Bathrooms that looked like they were from the mid-'50s or '60s, a staircase that looked more clumsy than eye-catching, and bedrooms that looked like they haven't been updated since the home was built.

However, as I continued to peer through pictures I realized what made this house special and worth the 11 million dollar price tag was not only the view but some of the modern amenities found in some rooms of the home.

So What's the Deal With the Most Expensive House in Bayhead, New Jersey?

The Home sits at 409 East Avenue, Bayhead New Jersey, and is easily spotted by its hot pink shutters.

It was built in 1920 and offers 'charm' instead of the usual glitz and bling accompanying luxury beachfront homes.

The house is currently on the market for only 11 million, three hundred thousand dollars, and would run you a monthly payment of just about 53 grand.

So maybe have a few roommates to help foot the bill?

The more I looked at the pictures though, the more I realized that this house has some very modern amenities which, in combination with the amazing view, warrants the price tag in my opinion.

I'm specifically talking about the kitchen, as well as some of the more updated bathrooms.

Spoiler alert, one has a bidet.

Why this Outdated Bayhead Home is worth the 11 Million Dollars

I was imagining modern amenities, renovated bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchens, as well as a garage big enough to fit a yacht. However, this home offers a certain level of charm that I think warrants the price tag... oh and that view is nice too!
