Ocean resident was speeding because she said house was on fire…it wasn’t
Who started the fire at a home in Ocean Township? Well, nobody because there was no fire.
An Ocean Township resident has been charged with Creating a Hazardous Condition following a motor vehicle stop on Hollywood Avenue in West Long Branch after she was pulled over for going 43 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.
When the officer asked her why she was speeding, she said it was because her home in Ocean Township was on fire.
The West Long Branch Police Officer then contacted the Ocean Police department to check on the drivers claim.
Ocean Police officers, as well as the Oakhurst Fire department were dispatched to the home of the accused where they confirmed...that the house was not on fire.
The accused driver was issued a speeding ticket from West Long Branch Police Department and issued a summons from Ocean Township Police Department.
