The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has caused scores of Jersey Shore towns to not only close their beaches, but officials have also undertaken efforts to keep out-of-town visitors from staying at seasonal homes and rentals.

Today, Ocean County officials released a list of towns that have shut down their beaches and enacted rental bans.

Here's the list as of Monday, April 6th:

Bay Head

Beaches - Closed
Rentals - No rentals via online booking services

Beach Haven

Beaches - Beaches are open only for residents with a township-issued placard, with activity restricted to walking, jogging, and walking leashed dogs.
Rentals - All rentals of 21 days or less are banned through May 1st

Brick

Beaches - All beaches and parks are closed
Rentals - All short-term rentals of 30 days or less are banned

Harvey Cedars

Rentals - All rentals of 21 days or less are banned through May 1st

Island Heights

Beaches - The river boardwalk and public access areas are closed

Lavallette

Beaches - The boardwalk and beaches are closed
Rentals - No rentals via online booking services

Long Beach Township

Beaches - Brant Beach ocean beaches are open only for residents with a township-issued placard.
Rentals - All rentals are banned

Mantoloking

Beaches - All beaches are closed

Point Pleasant Borough

Rentals - No rentals via online booking services

Point Pleasant Beach

Beaches - All beaches and the boardwalk are closed
Rentals - Officials are drafting a resolution to ban rentals

Seaside Heights

Beaches - All beaches and the boardwalk are closed
Rentals - No rentals via online booking services. Hotels and motels can only rent rooms to healthcare workers, first responders, and approved construction workers.

Seaside Park

Beaches - The boardwalk is closed. As of this writing, beaches remain open.

Ship Bottom

Beaches - All bay and ocean beaches are closed

Toms River

Beaches - Ortley Beach beaches and boardwalk are closed

Again, this is the official list from the Ocean County Public Information office. Local rules are subject to change and may be added to the county list.
