NJ woman goes to jail after cashing dead mom’s benefits … for 8 years!
ENGLEWOOD — A Bergen County woman didn't let her mother's death stop her from living on the dole.
After Linda Miller's mother died in May 2006, Miller continued to collect the deceased retiree's Social Security benefits until July 2014 — ripping off the feds out of $128,131.
Miller, 59, also collected her dead mother's pension benefits from New York until 2012, amounting to another $162,000.

She pleaded guilty in July 2015 in New York to a third-degree charge of larceny and was sentenced to six months in jail, which she already has served.
On the Social Security fraud, she pleaded guilty to second-degree theft by deception on Dec. 23 in Superior Court in Bergen County and was sentenced to six months in county jail and five years of probation.
Miller has already served her jail time, the New Jersey Attorney General's Office announced Friday.
She was ordered to pay back all the money she stole.
“Devious offenders like Miller drain critical resources that are needed to keep the Social Security program strong,” state Attorney General Christopher Porrino said. “We’ll continue to work with our federal partners to fight fraud and protect this vital program.”
