I just made the bold and beautiful declaration in one of my past articles that becoming a teacher in New Jersey has a way bigger payoff than you think.  We have a teacher shortage and it is largely because there is a perception that if you are going to be a teacher, you are going to be poor.

A new study argues that is not true for New Jersey and PA and in addition to that, New Jersey just got huge props as being the third best school system in America!

WalletHub released its report on 2022's States with the Best & Worst School Systems and New Jersey is the envy of most other states.

In order to determine the best school systems in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 32 key measures of quality and safety. The data covers the pupil-teacher ratio and dropout rate to median standardized-test scores.

Quality & Safety of Schools in New Jersey (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

  • 3rd – Math Test Scores
  • 2nd – Reading Test Scores
  • 4th – Pupil-Teacher Ratio
  • 24th – Median SAT Score
  • 12th – Median ACT Score
  • 4th – Dropout Rate
  • 12th – Bullying Incidence Rate
  • 24th – % of Threatened/Injured High School Students
  • 1st – Existence of a Digital Learning Plan

This is pretty dang impressive. Check it out!
