More Honors for the Toms River Little League All Stars

The Toms River Mayor and Council presented the Toms River Little League All Stars team with a resolution Tuesday night, honoring their efforts on the field that allowed them to clinch the Little League N.J. State Championship.

All Stars team member Jason Kapp described his team's efforts, saying "The whole team was pretty spectacular the whole time," said Kapp. "We made it that far. We won the states."

As the team progressed, the unexpected pressure of being televised made all the players nervous. Teammate Joe Schiffilitti admits "it was a little scary at first but then we adjusted."

Kapp added, "It felt weird in the beginning but after a while you just forgot about it and got into the game."

And even though the team fell just short of heading to the Little League World Series after a loss to Newark, Delaware in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, they all seem to realize they achieved greatness together.
