Playing in an all-star little league game was like playing in the World Series. When I played, looking back at it, the games were very passionate, the quality of play was awesome, and the fans were always supportive. No lie, I remember my Grandma yelling and cursing at a fan from the other team. I grew up in Wall Township, so I always played for the North Wall All-Stars. I think my grandma was cursing at a fan who was rooting for the South Wall All-Stars. Clearly, the rivalry was and still is intense HAHA!

With that, a HUGE congratulations to the players, coaches, and parents from Marlboro Little League! This is fantastic and I am happy to share these accomplishments with the Jersey Shore...

The Marlboro Little League program accomplished something it had never done in nearly 70 years as a youth baseball organization. Win a Regional Baseball Championship. However, one title was just not enough. Both the 9u and 10u AllStar teams won Middle Atlantic Regional Championships deep in the heart of Pennsylvania farmland. The 9u boys defeated the Northwest PA representative (Methacton Audubon Rec Assn) 3-1 AND The 10u boys defeated the Southeast PA representative (Warrington Babe Ruth League) in comeback, walk-off fashion, 3-2. Both teams are fueled by deep pitching and strong defense and have earned trips to the Cal Ripken World Series in Florida. Marlboro Youth Baseball and Softball Assn continues to grow and clearly can be recognized as one of the top travel/recreation programs in New Jersey.

Important:

On Sunday, July 25th at 1:30 pm, there will be a parade/send-off celebration for the 9U & 10U teams that will be playing at the Cal Ripken World Series in Florida. This will be happening at Marlboro Little Leauge (66 Tennent Road). Any type of support for the players and coaches would be spectacular! Good luck to the players, KEEP MAKING THE JERSEY SHORE PROUD! - Jimmy G

Congratulations!
