Manchester’s Lt. Manco completes FBI National Academy Program

Lt. Vincent Manco of the Manchester Township Police Department was among 223 law enforcement officers who graduated from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia. 

Last week's session was the 271st and consisted of men and women from 48 states and the District of Columbia. 18 international countries, five military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations were represented.

The National Academy Program is down for its academic excellence and is held at the FBI Academy. Ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training are offered for selected officers who have proven records as professionals within their agencies.

The average officer has twenty one years of law enforcement experience and after completing the program returns to their agency to serve in an executive level position.

The principal speaker at the ceremony was FBI Director Christopher Asher Wray. The FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members that hold advanced degrees are the trainers of the program.

Lt. Manco is among 24 law enforcement executives from New Jersey who were selected to attend this program. He is the first ever member of the Manchester Township Police Department to attend and graduate.

Marco began serving on the Manchester Township Police Department in 1999 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2008. He was promoted to his current rank, involving the supervision of the departments Investigations Bureau in 2012. He has received more than 20 Departmental Awards including the Medal of Honor which is the Department's highest distinction.

A total of 50,808 graduates now represent the alumni of the FBI National Academy since its inception in 1935.
