Long Branch SWAT Team Ends Three Hour Armed Standoff

What began as a domestic dispute involving a man fighting with his Father, ends in a three-hour standoff in Long Branch.

According to the Asbury Park Press, police were called to the scene by the father when the unidentified man barricaded himself inside a bungalow on Brighton Avenue behind the Brighton Bar with knives and a machete.

The area was evacuated and power cut off to the house.

A SWAT team rushed the home and arrested the resident, taking him in for psychiatric evaluation.
