Little Egg Harbor Man Dies from Gunshot Wound in Lakewood
Authorities in Ocean County are investigating the death of a man from Little Egg Harbor in Lakewood Sunday night.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Lakewood Township Police Chief Gregory Meyer say at around 7:40 Sunday night, officers responded to the area of Tudor Court in Lakewood after they received a 911 call about a man who had collapsed in the middle of the road.
Arriving officers found 20-year-old Dajour Randolph of Little Egg Harbor with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Randolph was transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus in Lakewood where he died from his injuries.
Billhimer and Meyer point-out that this is an on-going investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
Authorities say there is no known danger to the public at this time.
