
Lakewood man was driving intoxicated as 7 kids weren’t wearing seatbelts, police say

Lakehurst Police said they are charging a Lakewood man with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, reckless driving and DWI among other offenses after pulling her over for erratic driving in the borough.

The driving of Paulino Rosendo-Camargo, 36, is what caught police attention on June 5 around 11:16 pm and a patrol officer conducted a subsequent motor vehicle stop.
When he did, he saw Rosendo-Camargo showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol.
The officer also saw seven children in the vehicle, none of whom were wearing a seatbelt.
Rosendo-Camargo was then arrested for DWI and brought to headquarters before being released but faces charges for 2nd Degree Endangering the welfare of a child, Driving while intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to maintain lane of travel, Delaying traffic and Child restraint required.
As she was arrested, the seven children were taken into protective custody by police until a responsible adult came to take custody of them, police said.
