Lakewood Police are investigating an armed home invasion robbery where a township resident was pistol-whipped and the gun was fire fired in the home last night.


An armed suspect ransacked the township home and hit the resident on the head with the gun after 7 p.m. Police found a bullet casing at the scene and a bullet hole in the ceiling according to TheLakewoodScoop.com.

According to township Police Lieutenant Steve Allaire, the victim described two black males breaking into his Anthony Court dwelling, pistol-whipping the victim, and taking about $1,000 cash.

The victim told police that a gun toted by one of the pair discharged, and the bullet nicked a dresser. Afterwards, police said, the suspects wrapped the victim's head in a towel and forced him to lie down in a bathtub while they escaped.
